Upgraded from PTF to Pro Tools, now missing sessions
I recently upgraded from Pro Tools First to Pro Tools in order to get more tracks etc. I had recorded 3 songs in Pro Tools First. When I started recording in Pro Tools, I've lost the three songs. They didn't show up in Pro tools sessions, and when I go back to PTF, they are showing "Not Available" with a !
I put a ton of time into those three songs - please if anyone knows how to get them back, let me know. This is so painful! |

Hi, What Operating System? What's your System Info? Where did you store your sessions? Do you have a backup?

Re: Upgraded from PTF to Pro Tools, now missing sessions
Pro Tools First...you were probaby creating Cloud projects not Sessions (on local disk)? Pro Tools (standard) can use either.
If Cloud projects... are you signing in under the exact same Avid user? |

Re: Upgraded from PTF to Pro Tools, now missing sessions
10.14.6 - Mojave
Same user ID from first -> upgrade. I'd disabled the "cloud" option because you can only have 3 sync at a time, and I had more sessions to open - unclear what impact this should have. As I'd recorded the sessions using PTF - I didn't have a backup - they don't make "local" session files the way that I'm used to (with PT9 and before). Now I know that I can make a copy of the cache files -however I'm not seeing the songs that I recorded there. Which makes me think there are a couple options 1) they are store on the cloud side somehow, but not showing up syncing (potentially not correct / linked accounts and I need to sus this out) 2) they are stored in another location in cache files 3) they are deleted by the upgrade |
