count in intermittently changes speed during record
When recording a track, the click often (but not always) changes speed during the count in. It will eventually reach the correct speed but not always in time for me to catch the groove before "punch in". I have the count in set for 2 bars. I do not create tempo changes and I have checked there are none spuriously added at the beginning of the tempo track as well.
It doesn't happen every time but the "searching" it does when it occurs is a bit annoying since I have to try again. Does anyone have any suggestions or a remedy? Not the end of the world but this is not how it is supposed to work. Thx so much, John

BTW I have an HP computer running XP with Pro Tools 8. It's only been doing this count in speed change for last month or so. Everything works fine otherwise.

Sounds like you are using different time signatures. Disable count in and use pre-roll instead. Ctrl+K

As far as I know all my music is in 4/4. I haven't knowingly adjusted any settings that would change the time signature. I will have to look into this. thx. amagras.
