Default Afraid to buy Axiom Pro Keyboard? Also, will a new one appear?

Hey,

I just ordered myself an M-Audio Axiom Pro 61 Keyboard, I have ProTools LE on a Mac and I just like the Avid stuff, always nice quality so I thought Iīll go for that one.

Now you always read about the blue screen of death, which I donīt know what it is, but they say itīs gonn ruin the whole Keyboard for you and Pro Tools wonīt accept it anymore. Also thereīs a sticky issue with the keys etc., all those problems.

So is it really a good choice to have one of those? Iīm a little afraid, cause itīs a LOT of money and thereīs Keyboards for $99 that actually work (I know that caus I have friends using them...)

Also:
Will there maybe be a new one with fixed problems in a short amount of time?? Any news to that? Cause Iīd wait then....

Although my experience is based with PC (Windows XP 32, Vista 32 & 64, Seven 64) Axiom Pro has been faultless. We've had a few firmware issues over the years but they've been sorted and currently Axiom Pro is running the best it has ever. Axiom Pro is a very successful keyboard device. For the first time, Axiom Pro combines both MIDI Controller and Control Surface functionality into one keyboard device. Brilliant! Axiom Pro has become an important part of the Pro Tools workflow.

Don't believe everything you read on The Web.

I did and I didn't see any on the first page, sure there was listed M-Audio products but no mention of Axiom Pro. Axiom Pro are not the same as Axiom generation one nor generation two. Axiom Pro is the flagship as it supports the most functionality and integration with Pro Tools.

Guys, the Keyboard is here, very quick...

Hyper Control doesnīt work at all. All the knobs work whatever way but not the way they should. Most knobs donīt work in any sense (for example the transport controls do nothing)...the only thing is I can hear some sound from one track, but I donīt even know how to change the track. Manuals donīt make any sense at all to me (just to give M-Audio a clue to make them more understandable?????).

Any help?

I have Pro Tools 9 and Mac OS X 10.6.8. I accidently installed the Hyper Control Software for PT 7.4, any chance thatīs the problem? How can I fix it, if it is the problem?

Grab the latest Firmware for your OS from M-Audio.com and reinstall Pro Tools 9. Run the firmware update first following all on screen instructions then launch Pro Tools and setup Peripherals.

If I re-install ProTools, whatīs gonna happen to my Plugins etc.? Will everything stay the same?

BTW, I found a part of the problem, the transport works now. I loaded the ProTools Patch into the Keyboard instead of the GM Patch (which wasnīt listed anywhere, or did I just not read it??). Now the transport works, but the other knobs seem to be strange.

When I hit the track left and right or the sole and mute, nothing happens.

Re-Installed ProTools, didnīt help...

Also, can you tell me how to set the velocity of the pads to a specific level? And how to assign them to drum samples?
