Getting the most out of 2018.7

Avid did a great job with the release notes for 2018.7, including demo vids.

That is amazing !!! I am serious that is a fabulous implementation (searching plugins and buss’s)

Cudos for the search plugin and buss feature - I am still not renewing but that is really nice

I've been working my way through the videos and things are working really well.

I still wish there was a way to rank and group plugins together but this is just as good.

I like the new features with regard to working on a grid. Makes a lot of sense.

Allow Sends to persist during LLM

Normally when LLM is enabled all plug-ins and sends are bypassed. With this preference we will allow the input signal to go to the sends while still not passing any of the signal from the input to the output.

Preferences -> Mixing -> Setup -> Allow Sends to persist during LLM

AWESOME! Now when I monitor through UAD Console during tracking, I only need to have reverbs on the PT session, not in PT and in Console! And look at this: Unnecessary delay will not be incurred on tracks with a dead end bus assigned WONDERFUL!

Oops... I forgot, I accidentally let my upgrade plan lapse this year... aww shucks.

Problem here is that there's a bug. If you enable "Allow Sends to persist during LLM" any prerecorded info on that track will not playback which doesn't allow you to do punch-ins. Definite bug they overlooked.....

Not here in my tests.

The point of this feature is to allow users to have reverb on a vocal (for example) while tracking through PT at a low buffer.

So you can't be using Sends for Cues at the same time or else they'll stay active and be latent depending on your buffer size.

If you're using direct monitoring of some sort and need PT to feed previous material to the Cues, you'll keep working like you have been.

Understood Drew, but when i enable it there is no playback of pre-recorded material on that track. When i disable it audio plays back fine??? Please try and let me know what i might have missed. Thanks in advance.
