Installing PT9 on 10.8.2 (Mountain Lion)
Hi.
I have purchased a new computer, that comes with Mac OS 10.8.2 installed. I'm trying to install the full PT9.0.5 pack, to after upgrade it to 9.0.6. But, the instalation of the 9.0.5 just doesn't starts. The icon keeps bouncing on the dock. I have tried to run the installer directly from the /System/Library/CoreServices/ but I can't open the 9.0.5 from it (it's greyed, like all the other installers.... that's strange). What can I do??? Any solutions besides upgrading to PT10? Installing the packages directly from the "show package contents" will work? Thanks! |

Quote:
You need Pro Tools 10.3 for Mountain Lion. Unless you can install /clone Lion on your mac and use 9.0.5 Chris

Re: Installing PT9 on 10.8.2 (Mountain Lion)
I just got 9.0.6 working on 10.8.2, but what I did was update a SL installation that already had PT 9.0.3 installed. Initially, pro tools showed up with the "no entry" symbol on it's icon, but after running the updater to 9.0.6, it seems to work fine so far.
It would appear that the 9.0.5 installer does not install directly to ML, but if it exists before you update to ML, you can run the 9.0.6 updater and get it working. Too bad there's no full installer for 9.0.6. Since your mac shipped with 10.8.2, You probably can't install any older OS version. But, if you have another older mac, you might be able to get PT 9.0.5 onto your new one using migration assistant, then run the 9.0.6 installer.
