Default Wavedriver for M-Powered

Hi,

I've never used Protools LE but I understand it ships with Wavedriver which allows me to stream audio into protools via another application. Does M-Powered have Wavedriver and can it do the same thing? Maybe I just don't know how to use it, does it show up as another input?

Thanks for your help.

First, I think you are confused about what the wavedriver is and what it does. It does not allow you to stream audio from another application into Pro Tools, it is a driver that allows you to use the Digidesign hardware (002, 002R, mBox2, mBox) for playing the sound from other applications when Pro Tools is not running (applications such as iTunes, Windows Media PLayer, winamp, etc).

Second, most of the MAudio interfaces have their own drivers for that, and I'm pretty sure it's not necessary.

Third, I think you might be thinking of Re-Wire, which is a protocol developed by Propellerhead Software (makers of Reason) to allow two separate programs to connect in a "host/client" type fashion and pass data between.

What software's output are you trying to stream to Pro Tools?

Ahh ok that explains it. Well, it would be nice to have Line 6 Guitar Port stream right into protools without having to take the output sound and wire it back through my delta 1010 interface.

Yep. No can do; you'll have to do it the hard way.
