Default Am I missing an update for Xpand?

I've been using Xpand for years, and every time I update something, Xpand is the first to need an update. My solution was to stop updating, so my need to fix Xpand became minimal.

I'm now working at a TV station where I'm using a new Mac Pro, running OS 10.7.3.
ProTools LE 8.04.

Xpand is all yellow and green and unusable, which is what happens when it needs an update.

I ran the current updater, for PTle 7.4 and up, with no fix. Am I missing an update?

Are you talking about the original Xpand, or the current Xpand 2?

The original Xpand became obsolete when PT8 came out, because PT8 included Xpand 2. So I don't think there's been any updates since then.

If you're using PT8 at the station, it should have Xpand 2 in there as well.

Good question... in PTle8 it shows up as "Xpand!", not Xpand2. This is a legitimate installation of PT running with an Mbox. Is there a way to install Xpand2?

It should actually say Xpand 2. With PT8, it was installed with protools. If there's a way to re-install PT8, that might do the trick. I don't know if that's possible if it's a work computer.

As far as continuity between systems, I'm pretty sure Xpand 2 has all the presets from the original version, so that shouldn't be an issue.

Hmm, very strange. I'm doing sound for 30 second commercials, and since I prefer to use Pro Tools, I bring my Mbox and installed PT myself from the install CD. This was done 3 weeks ago, a clean install on a new computer....not even updated from an older version of PT.

I've put in the request to have the company buy an Mbox, so that I can leave mine at home. When it arrives, maybe the install disc will have Xpand2. Xpand 1 works fine on my Mac at home, OS 10.6.8.

Hi, if you updated from 7.4 to 8.0.4 you missed an update that fixes the yellow xpand.

8.0.3 fixed that. You need to run the 8.0.3 update. then run the 8.0.4 and it will fix that.

I did the same thing. I went from 8.0.1 to 8.0.5 and had the yellow VIs. I then updated to 8.0.3 and then 8.0.5 and it fixed it.

There is also an update for Xpand to Xpand2. You get all the sounds of both.

Heheh, thanx! I was stubborn. I decided to try 8.0.5 first. That fixed it, as well as some other minor problems....like not seeing clip boundaries when moving them.
