I try to show off the editor, and show the couple of things that changed.

Overall, its pretty much the same as the integrated editor we had in PT10 and lower.

You know, where I will find this most useful is in testing or tweaking presets BEFORE I get to the point of tracking anything.

I can't get it to launch.

Its telling me that the ilok isn't present. I no longer have an ilok on my system (although I used to).

I thought this release didn't require the dongle?

What are you trying to launch? The Editor or Pro Tools?

Very weird.

I had to install the ilok license manager and then it worked fine.

Hmm.... I didn't notice that. I guess cause I have the iLok Manager installed on every computer I have. I'll test and see.

I didn't see anything in the read me that said the iLok manager was required... maybe I missed it?

Nothing anywhere says it'd required.

Maybe thats why they pulled the download down. Really weird.

Are you on Windows?

I just checked this and you ARE CORRECT.

I did not notice this listed anywhere, I will double check the FAQ and see if it is there, if not, I'll be sure to pass it on.

So....

For anyone wanting to install the Standalone Editor, it looks like you will need to install the iLok License Manager, but you should not need an actual iLok.
