Default Euphonix MC Mix Vs. Artist Mix

HI, I'm in the market for a Euphonix mix control surface. I'm not sure is the MC Mix is the same as the Artist Mix? Also the software that comes in the box is
version 2.5.4 (i think) lol

Anyway, Id like to make sure that what I'm buying at the store is actually the second generation control surface and not the first.. How do I confirm this?

Thanks in advance.

The two are identical right now. Avid hasn't updated he product past where Euphonix has - yet. If you buy it form a store, they will most likely have v2 of the Control, since that has been out for over a year. Some places might have old stock of the v1 though. (and I've had my v1 since it first came out with no issues).

I hope you enjoy your artist series!

Thanks Jaynisko! I actually bought the MC-Mix... Yeah I spoke to the Euphonix rep and he told me the same thing you did. The only upgrade that's gonna take place in the future is a cosmetic upgrade with logos.. That's it. I need to update my firmware on the MC mix to see if it fixes my faders not being calibrated to my host software mixer.. Have you had this problem?

They seemed to be liquidating v1 of the Mc Mix in the stores around here. I managed to get 100$ off the last unit I found in my city. I'll probably get another v1 used when the v2 is available.

Can't believe it sells for 1400$ usd on Apple's store... I got mine for 400 less than that brand new.

Angry Re: Euphonix MC Mix Vs. Artist Mix

The touch screens on the McControl MkI will die. Ive had two of them die and then a 3rd one - a MkII was sent to me I plugged it in and the faders sat there making a terribly loud grinding noise......so the Euphonix guy said "well the McControl doesn't seem to be working for YOU".... "alot of guys go for the McMix and the McTransport instead"..... then started a multi month stupidity fest....and I now have one McMix that works "ok" and a second one that has two bad faders that grind away and sometimes slowly change value on their own...... You can bet I wont give AVID any more of my $. AVID took what was a great idea, bought it, changed manufacturing, will not pack these things correctly for shipping and cant see the forest for the trees....
