Default Digi 002 via firewire-thunderbolt to Macbook - audio is fine but no control of 002

Hi, after reading many posts on how to successfully connect your old 002 to your Macbooks Thunderbolt port, I gave it a try.

So I installed latest drivers (002_003_Family_11.1.0.0), bought the adapter and connceted the 800-400 cable. The system-control panel for the 002 says Hardware connected and Pro Tools plays audio through the 002 - but I cannot control the device - its totally locked and "greyed out". Meaning I cant move faders, use transports or adjust anything at all on the console.

I guess Im doing something wrong somewhere down the line, please help me in the right direction.

My setup is Pro Tools 10, and a new Macbook retina with OS X 10.8.4

BTW next to "Hardware connected" on my control panel it says "Not Streaming". Dont know what this really indicates..

regards

Can you verify that the 002 actually works? Are you aware of the old "power harness" issue that plagues most 002's? Just hate to see you chasing a connection problem if the 002 itself was the problem(like I did a few years ago when my 002 decided to quit at the exact moment I moved it to a new computer) 4 hours of troubleshooting and reloading software, with no fix. Reseated the harness and was up in 5 minutes.....

Hi, Dave - and thanks.

Yes my 002 works fine, connecting back to my other Pro Tools rig - a Windows PC with FW card and PT10 it works as usual.

But when I connect to my Macbook, the moment I start PT it goes blank, only lights are the "1344" light and "mute". It looks like some sort of "lock out" mode, where software or driver overtakes the unit.

Right now this really puzzles me (",)

Anyone having the same experience?

Working now!

I had accidentally installed the wrong driver. I can hereby confirm: Digi 002 drivers for PT11 *will not* work with PT10 !
