Is the 7.4 upgrade enough for installation on Vista?

I'm currently using PTLE 7.3.1 on WinXP. If I want to install it on Vista, is it enough to buy the 7.4 upgrade? I expect, that the previous installation of PT 7.3 is necessary for installing the 7.4 upgrade, but PTLE 7.3 is not compatible with Vista. Do you know something about it? Thanx a lot!

You are correct that Vista is only compatible with 7.4

If it's not necessary and is working on XP I would stick with that, I got a new laptop (Dell) that has Vista and I am having a hulluva time getting it going. I don't know if it's Vista causing the problem... but it is being a real bitch.

Yeah, I know. I'm asking, because I've just bought a new VAIO laptop with Vista, and I want to run Pro Tools on it.

I actually have the same question. I own 7.3 and have it on my xp machine but I would like to install 7.4 on my new Vista machine. I have no idea if just getting the $50 upgrade is enough or if I have to pay for the $75 full install version.

Well I just purchased the $50 upgrade and part of the process of purchasing asks you to give them the code for your 7.3 version. Luckily mine is still in my account so I copy and pasted it and it looks like I have the full 7.4 installation downloading right now. I will update you when I get it installed.

When you purchase the 7.4 upgrade, you are required to supply the previous serial. You then get a serial for 7.4. So there is no need to have 7.3 installed - on Vista, which can't be done, or even XP.
