Anybody use a MixPre-D as a USB interface with PT?

The MixPre-D does not use an ASIO compliant driver, and just shows up as a standard sound device when connected to a computer, so I don't think that will work with ProTools.

I'm not sure about the CoreAudio / Mac side, but I'll see what I can find out.

Thanks. I'm looking to upgrade and it's for a late MacBook Pro.
SD says in their manual: "USB class-compliant device, analog input to USB output, USB monitoring in head- phones"

I contacted Sound Devices about using the MixPre-D with PT on a Mac and they said you should have no problems with the setup. You should be able to choose the MixPre in ProTools and use it like any other audio device.

I too contacted them, and searched for another user of Mixpre-D and PT on mac.. found 2 other users.. it's is confirmed it will work.,, although needs external power... not USB powered.
Thanks for checking. I'm going to give it a go... as my G5/002r is long in tooth.
