Can\'t open 24-bit sessions with 5.3.1
Here's my dilemma:
I can create and open 16-bit sessions all day long on either scsi MacOpener drives or the internal IDE drive. And, I can also seemingly Save Copy In from 16-bit to 24-bit sessions without any errors being displayed. However, when I attempt to open any of the 24-bit sessions I saved, or if I try and create a new 24-bit session on any drive, or if I even try and open an existing 24-bit session on the MacOpener HFS drive (a verified 5.1 session used at work), it's a no-go. I always get the following message: "ProTools was not able to reacquire the hardware and must now exit. Message ID= -1103." My setup is as follows: Ptools 5.3.1 on Windows 2k Pro, w/ all updates one 888/24 legacy I/O 24|MIX core card Symbios 8600sp scsi card > 20 mips max setting Celeron 550 mhz processor, 384 meg ram Seagate 8.5 gb Barracuda external Scsi drive Maxtor 20 gb internal IDE drive MacOpener v6.05, registered PLEASE HELP.. THANKS. |

Re: Can\'t open 24-bit sessions with 5.3.1
Well, it's working okay now. Seems that the extra memory I installed (256 meg stick) wasn't seated quite enough in the mb socket.
Now that all 384 mb are being seen the system rocks! |
