Default Retro CD shareware clicks and pops

I am using retro cd to route audio through my protools set up. After awhile I get distorted sound like digital clipping but its not. Can any one help with this? It's bad enough I have to use this shareware program with my $10,000 set up. File under: It used to work now it don't!!!!

What does RetroCD do actually ? Don't know this program...
