Default Files disappear after committing (E.A.)

I made some editing with EA (mono), then I switched to XForm and committed the new track. It divided the track in 3 files. At the end of the rendering two of the three files do not exist anymore... worst thing, trying to access older playlists crashes ProTools and I have to reboot the Mac. Trying to import all data in a new session does not import the old playlists. What happened ???? PT 8.0 cs1, Macpro 2x2.66 DualCore 3GB RAM... thanks !

Would that be his bug perchance?

Was fixed in CS3 I believe.

Oh, good to know, thanks... I am not on the cs3 because it is not my setup, but I'll definitely try it

Hi,

Are you consolidating your files before committing? It's always a good idea for safety reasons. I've heard of many people losing their data this way you described and I think Digi's answer was to consolidate before rendering permanently.

Good to know this too... I thought consolidating before committing was not allowed... thanks

To be honest, I don't remember if it's going to help but I think I remember that they were giving t his out as a fix. I hope it helps. At least it provides you with a file that you can retrieve if things go bad.
