Activating 12HD renewal codes brought abroad

I guess I was one of those people that totally missed the March end of subscription notices seen as I don't use the application manager etc - I want to get the renewal now (as opposed to the reinstate ********) while the grace period is still active.

I'm currently in the US for work for a few weeks while my avid a/c is 'european' - is it ok to buy a HD renewal code locally (as I've no other use for the dollars I'm earning) and activate it on my europe based avid a/c?
