Default Digi 002 ADAT not working with Apollo

I'm having issues trying to get my digi 002 to work smoothly with my Apollo Quad interface.

I've setup the Digi 002 with a Tascam FW-1884, and the ADAT inputs all worked seamlessly, with FW-1884 as Master Clock and Digi 002 clock source set to ADAT.

I'm trying a similar setup now, but with my Apollo (sold the Tascam to help fund the upgrade to my Apollo Quad)

I don't get ANY signal when setting the Apollo's clock source to internal, and the 002 clock source to ADAT. I have cable running both OUT from the 002 IN to the Apollo, and OUT of the Apollo IN to the 002.

I DO, however, get signal with the Apollo set to ADAT and 002 internal. I'd rather avoid this if possible, however, as the Apollo's clock is higher quality than the 002 clock.

The ONLY way I've got any signal through, is by shutting everything down, removing the cable going OUT of the Apollo IN to the 002, and setting the Apollo clock source to ADAT. So I have only one cable running from the Digi 002 OUT, to the Apollo IN, with 002 clock on internal and Apollo on ADAT. This has worked, but as I mentioned I'd rather use the Apollo as master clock and 002 as slave. I can't get this to work though, and I'm stumped... Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Default Re: Digi 002 ADAT not working with Apollo

Given the age and "quality" of the 002, its preamps and converters, I would simply replace it with a Behringer ADA8200. Way less headache, and better preamps and converters
