Re: Motherboard Opinion
Just another vote for ASUS, good availability, A high adoption rate means that troubleshooting is easier if needed. The Gigabytes are usually priced a bit nicer but there were several people that had some issues and you needed to know the secret Gigibyte handshake to get the Beta BIOS from Gigabyte. That and the wacky issue that they had with some Samsung drives early on leads me to lean towards ASUS. From what I understand the newest boards are sorted out now. For anything other than PT I like and have used MSI, Giga, ECS. My next DAW build will be a ASUS....

Re: Motherboard Opinion
I'm looking at this thread right now b/c I'm having hell getting my gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R to work properly and trying to find a trusted mobo model. Not the same model but just informing you. I also use a GA-G33M-S2L that's not so smooth sailing but at least I can bounce sessions. So that's 2 gigabyte boards that don't work so great.

Re: Motherboard Opinion
I am currently running an ASUS P5K Deluxe wifi board (Quad) with 4 GB RAM. I built it with lots of help from the DUC community here and no issues!

Re: Motherboard Opinion
I have just bought a P5Q Pro board because all the recommended P5K boards are no longer available. Personally I would rather the P35 chipset if its Digi approved and its working well. Has anybody found anything kooky with the P5Q series boards / P45 chips yet? Are there any special settings or particular BIOS revisions that work best? I have been reading the Best Core2 sticky.... a lot of reading.
