As it's freely distributed on their website, and also as long as you don't make any copies to sell them, you should be able to have them printed out even down in the states.

Logic would dictate that but since it says "Copyright Avid" no one will touch it.

Beats the crud out of trying to read an onscreen pdf, more portable than a computer for reading, easier to mark-up with thoughts & comments/notes, want me to stop now?

Some people like to take notes and underline text. Others just don't like to read a complete chapter on-screen. I like to have the manual open in front of me while I'm trying some things in the software, instead of Alt-Tab each time....
