Default Macbook Unibody + Pro Tools , HELP ME PLS

Maybe is a silly question for you all, but seriously i need your help.

im using Macbook unibody
which lack of firewire
state in Digidesign page - is not compatible to Pro Tools

I will use it with Fast Track Pro
Fast Track Pro come with USB port
before this, is it lack of firewire then i cant use Pro Tools?

Digidesign recommend record audio file tru firewire to external drive
isit macbook unibody dont have firewire
but they dont want us use USB external drive
so they wrote is not compatible due to lack of firewire??

So why they still say that is compatible to PC or Windows Laptop
all of them dont have firewire, but is compatible to Pro Tools?
anyone can help me?

Anyone using Macbook Unibody + Pro Tools 8 MP ???

Anyone know about this?

Because i really want to use Pro Tools...

I email Digidesign, but they never reply me.

I would say a millions of Thanks if anyone can help me out.

Appreciate it !

Macbook Unibody is a bad design IMO.

Can you return it and get an older one with proper connections?

You bought a unsupported machine not a lot anyone can do for you. You can use a USB external drive, but will only handle small sessions. If you have any problems then you kinda of hosed because it is a unsupported machine.

Don't feel bad many people make this mistake, they buy a computer then find out the system requirements for the software they want to use. In future pick software first get its system requirements then go computer shopping. BTW you can get Windows boxes with FW ports if you look around.

That is not a Mac Issue it´s a ProTools issue.
The onyl reason other DAW like Cubase, Logic etc. don´t tell you what kind of equipment you need is becauase they don´t care about what Performance you get.
AVID makes the at least an afford to tell you what performance you can expect from a certain setup.
And they tell you that you won´t be satisfied with USB drive Performance.

Here are your system requirements:

http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?...4&itemid=36933

It should be fine.

By the way, have you already purchased the M-Powered software? If you have then it will NOT work with the Mbox 2! Mbox is strictly for ProTools LE. ProTools M-Powered REQUIRES an M-Powered interface. THEY ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE!!

Your original post mentioned the Fast Track Pro, which WILL WORK with PT M-Powered and the MacBook White.

Good luck!!
