Default PODxt via USB into PT 6.9.2

I'm trying to set up the PODxt via USB into my 002 Rack LE 6.9.2. I'm new to Mac. I have a G5 running "Tiger" 10.4 I thought I'd be able to open the POD as 2 tracks unto themselves. Ex: Am using 16 tracks, would like to run POD in tracks 17/18, as USB in. I can't get it to open as a plugin. either. I thought I'd be able to. Suggestions?

Nope, won't work. Protools will not record from USB from a non-Protools interface.

What you can do is connect your POD to your 002R using the 1/4" balanced outputs on the POD into two of the 1/4" balanced inputs on the 002R. Set them up as a stereo track in Protools, and you'll have your connection into Protools.

Unless the POD software is able to work via rewire, then you may be able to do what you want.

connect the POD via SPDIF to the 002r.
Then you can record digitally into PT, and reamp also (use as PlugIn).

Thanks for the help. I thought along the same lines, but, the POD book is not very clear. Consensus is to use the S/PDIF, but, to also search the Re-Wire route, too. Again, thanks!

This is only posssible to the POD XT Pro (the 19' rack device).

On the POD XT (the small podlike apparatus) there's no s/pdif connection unfortunatelly...

s/pdif can be a lightpipeconnection or as in most cases a single cinch connection (or double for in ánd out).

So the simple audioconnection will have to do.

This is how I record our guitarplayer and it works just fine.

Good luck on recording!

Greetings earthling!
