help me uninstall EQIII - please
As it looked so cool and everyone said it was pretty good I went ahead and tried to install EQIII with my AMIII/PTLE 6.1.1 sytem. Now I can't get PT to open at all
How do I go about uninstalling? Can anyone help me? Thanks! |

Re: help me uninstall EQIII - please
The same way you uninstall any other software in Windows... Start->Settings->Control Panel->Add or Remove Programs.

Re: help me uninstall EQIII - please
And here was me thinking it would be, like most things related to Digidesign, complicated. Thanks. |

...And it seems I was, for once, right.
Even uninstalling and rebooting, the problem persists. Oh dear. |

Re: help me uninstall EQIII - please
I don't know if this will help, but try reinstalling Pro Tools LE 6.1.1.
If that doesn't help... Check for a file named Digidesign DSP Manager (which is the name of the updated file on Mac) or do a find for DSP on your drive and see if you have a similarly named file with a recent creation date. Sorry, don't have a PC at the moment to check the file name on Windows. If you find a file with that name or similar created in 2005, delete it and then install PTLE 6.1.1. I'm not Tech Support and I don't have your setup to recreate, so I'm guessing here.

Re: help me uninstall EQIII - please
Thanks for that.
I tried reinstalling with the repair option, alas no luck. I searched my disc for recent 'DSP' files and could n't turn up anything. Do I need to completely unistall PT as outlined in Rail's helpful advice, and then reinstall from scratch??? Will I lose all of my music?? And will the world thank me for that??? Ah, stupid curiousity...I am a turnip. |

Re: help me uninstall EQIII - please
The filename is "DSPManager.dll" on a pc, and should be located here:
C:\Program Files\Digidesign\Pro Tools The only other files that should have changed with the installation should be the actual plugin files (EQ III.dpm and EQ III.dpm.rsr), the "installed plugins" file, and the plugins parameters file.

Chris - thank you thank you thank you!
I deleted the file, reinstalled PT and I'm up and running. Thanks to everyone for their help. I feel ever so slightly wiser because of it. |
