edirol ua-25 and digi 001 together?
I'm not sure if it's possible.
My system: G4 466, 512, 001... (i know, it's ancient) I'm running 6.2 LE on 10.6.2 (i think) I want to use the Edirol for the extra two mic preamps. edirol OS X drivers installed and working, but it doesn't show up in protools. (the midi i/o does) I couldn't get it to work directly (usb) so I tried using an optical cable out from the Edirol to the 001. No luck there. Which approach is better? What am i missing? Thanks, Matt |

Re: edirol ua-25 and digi 001 together?
It won't show up in ProTools, PT only recognizes Digidesign interfaces, and you can't use multiple interfaces at once anyway.
Your best bet is to connect the analog outputs of Edirol to analog 1/4" inputs on the back of the 001. You could also try the digital connection, but make sure both devices are set to use the S/PDIF format for the optical port and not ADAT optical (which is 8 channel - you want S/PDIF because it's 2 channel). You can change this setting on the 001 in your hardware setup, can't help you with the Edirol. You'll also want to set your PT clock to S/PDIF while you've got the 2 connected digitally, and make sure you've got the same sample rate set on both devices. |

going 1/4" is working, which is good enough for me. |
