That's currently not possible. The thing is: While it might seem practical to do an audio-compare based on a full mix typically inside a QT it will give you LOTS of false matches or false negatives if they changed a lot in the music or replaced the music and or temp-fx. Audio compare based on isolated stems(DX, FX or MX) will give you WAY more flexibility depending on what your goal is for the recut.

Of course there could be rare cases when there's no music at all etc. but I think the gain would not actually be that great if this function existed.

Also with QT dying and MXF becoming the standard there's won't be much embedded audio in picture deliveries any more either.

But if you want this just to be able to quickly monitor inside MB but the actual change-lists are based on the AAF or picture it could help. yes.

Just my thoughts...

Frank.

Well, that's where our worlds differ Frank.
In my world it's less about recuts but about downcuts (often promotional assets).
There it would help tremendously. Music and temp fx are changed not very often. Requesting isolated stems from the edit room is a no go either. Doing them is our job.

Ah right, different world indeed. Might be a good addition then.

I have a question. I mix mostly 1hr long 1 on 1 interviews with some music VO etc but mostly interview only. Last minute up to the day of delivery recuts are common for me. Matchbox is perfect for getting everything back in sync for me.
I probably am not using matchbox correctly but is there a way to create markers for just the changes? It seems like if there is a pullup early on the software creates markers for every edit for the rest of the show. It gets a little confusing in the rush of things to figure out what really changed.
