Default Re: external HD question

I'm afraid it is not the right solution as I'm sure it is usb 2.0 all the way since I have a usb 2.0 card.
I tested the pcmcia card and I can tell you that both the HD and the card are running at usb 2.0 speed.

I also did several sessions with the same setup and more tracks without any problem.

Default external HD question

I just saved a session copy of my current job on my usb 2.0 HD and I keep on receiving the "disk too slow or too fragmented" message.
I checked the disk and it doesn't need to be fragmented.

The thing is that I don't receive this message when I use my laptop internal HD, wich is 4200 RPM.

I worked before on this usb 2.0 HD without any problem. This HD is a 7200 RPM.

My session has 18 audio tracks and 5 aux channels.

Not only does the case for your external drive have to be USB 2.0, the USB ports on your laptop must be USB 2.0. It sounds like you're getting USB 1.0 speed.
