Default Mbox Line Inputs Balanced TRS ?

Are the line inputs on the Mbox balanced TRS, what level are they at? +4 or -10?

And, is it possible to plug two sets of headphones into the Mbox? One into the 1/8" front connector and another set into the 1/4" back connector?

Jerry, man, you need to get the Micro Box .pdf file. It's on Digi's CD they mailed out...

I'll peek & see if this info is on there...

Peace

BTW Can someone explain (to this rookie) how the Mbox "mix pot" works?

From the mbox .pdf :

__________________________________________________ ___

Analog Inputs - 2

* Separate source selection and gain control per channel

* MIC/LINE/INST (DI) input - XLR/1/4" combo connector

* Phantom power (48 V)

* Mic pre-amp:>-120 dB EIN @ > 40 dB gain

* Hi-Z input for instrument pickup

* Maximum Input: 3.5 VRMS (balanced signal), or + 13 dBu

Headphone Output

* Separate volume control - both 1/8" and 1/4" connectors

* > 0.25 w into 600 ohm

mix pot allows you to make a mix between the audio coming from protools and the instrument you play.

Example: you have recorded everything except vocals. Make a nice headphone mix in protools. record enable the vocal-track and mute it!!!! then with the mix-pot you can make a mix between the vocals and the rest of your music.

They do it like this to make sure you have NO latency issues when tracking

Yes, the Analog inputs are balanced (XLR / 1/4" TRS combo connectors). The gain of the analog inputs are continuously variable so there is no reference calibration level.

-In short, No, it's not designed to drive two headphones.

The Mbox does have two headphone outputs, however plugging into the 1/4 inch jack on the rear panel disconnects the mini-jack on the front panel. You could plug a Y-cable into one of the jacks but the amount of drive is limited.
