Default Autotune 5 users

I have been searching for reviews and issues before I install and upgrade from aT4 to AT5. Has anyone taken the plunge?

What bugs have you found in PTLE 7.1? Is it better? Is it worth it? I know it is only a $99.00 upgrade but I don't want $2000.00 worth of problems.

In the search I put
auto+tune+5
Autotune+5
autotune 5
and went older than one week. I found nothing in all forums.

Thanks for the heads up.

I noticed in your signature it says raid. Are you successfully running raid with ptle? If so, I'd like to know how. Thanks

re: the RAID question:
  • I was involved in some discussion here about this a while ago. The conclusion was that RAID is good for video files, but offers little advantage for audio. In fact, it can be detrimental if your RAID implementation hasn't got it's own dedicated controller but is managed via the pci bus. There's generally been a move away from doing things using hardware, and trying to get clever software to do it all. That doesn't always work out so well.

    A Google yields this article.

That warning aside, I've had RAID for years on an old Abit BL7-RAID mobo (with it's own RAID controller) and it's worked fine.
Now back to Autotune...

I had Dave F at Sweetwater install another system drive that mirrors the main C drive per his recomendation. That way if one drive does bad I theoretically should never be down. I told them to set me up with the type of redundancy that Disney uses and apparentley they did. Their turnkey is fantastic. Right out of the box it rocks and rolls. I was already using a sweetwater cube and upgraded to the dual core rack. I also had an additional audi drive and upgraded the other to bigger with 2 gig ram. This machine is amazing.

Ah, that's RAID 1. I was talking about RAID 0.

Meanwhile, back to Autotune...

I'm getting a dead link on the server when I click on the link you provided. Please point us again to the article you were referring to.

Hi Scar97

I upgraded to Autotune 5 RTAS Native version.( I rarely run the plugin real time. I always Manualy tune) I have had no issues and now that it is locked to the system clock I can use the graphic mode so easlily and come back and make changes later if I wish. It is also much better than 4 as far as no graphical errors in the graphic mode and visualy far more easier to use and see.

I am running 7.3 HD.

Go for it I would say.

All the best,

Big D
