Antares 9.1 issue

I have had very few issues and had a very stable system for the past five years...nothing in the last year or so. Yesterday I downloaded all he stuff from Antares (code meter, antares central, and the updated plug). When I installed the first step which was the codemeter thing, it froze and went to a black screen during the restart. I knew I was probably screwed at that point. It did restart and I continued on with the other installation. After another restart, Pro tools was unable to find my HDX I/Os. I tried most everything I knew to do and was able to get everything back up and running. I wish that was the end.

Today, I booted up and realized that as soon as my computer boots, it locks the HDX I/Os to the computer sound output. That did not happen before the codemeter installation. I had some vocals to work on and the computer gave me a prompt that the wibu codemeter software was being blocked (which I was thinking meant that auto tune wouldn't authorize) so I clicked "allow." It said I needed to restart to allow the program to load correctly (or something like that) so I clicked restart. The computer got to the apple logo and progress bar but would never fully boot. The progress bar just stuck and I waited 15 minutes before holding the power button down. I tried safe mode with no result. I tried a bunch of other stuff with no success (PRAM, recovery, time machine restore, OS reinstall). I finally was able to get the computer to boot but still had the I/O issue where it locks the I/Os immediately when it boots. It appears to have combined soundflower, built-in output, and avid hardware into one device.

I'm also having dock icons come up missing now and are replaced with a question mark.

I've created a support ticket with Antares. Anybody else having any issue with the new Antares update? I don't understand why they're going this route and getting away from ilok.
