Default Fast Track Pro out of order after last driver update

Hi everybody,
I own a Fast Track Pro and everything was working flawlessly until I installed the new 6.1.10 driver pack and the latest 1.0.2 firmware along with it.

Now, the sound has become choppy, with occasional pops/clicks noises, and it randomly change pitch and/or speed. Sometimes it just disappears. The issues occur whenever I try to playback audio, no matter what's the source (cubase projects, youtube videos, or simply listening to mp3s with windows media player).

Furthermore, my CPU usage raises to 100% when i try to load even the lightest audio projects.

I also formatted my system and re-installed everything from scratch, but nothing changed. I'm using Windows XP SP3 (x86).

Is there anyway to downgrade to the old driver/firmware? Please help me, Fast Track Pro is such a good product, I don't want to throw it away for a driver/firmware error.

It will be a bit rough diagnosing since you did so many changes at once - with the format and driver upgrade at the same time.

After formatting, did you go through the Optimization Guides again?

Actually, I formatted after those issues occurred, just to make sure it wasn't related with my system. Nothing changed, anyway, the problem is still there, even with a fresh install. Yes, I did follow that guide, no luck. It must be something related to the new driver/firmware, because it was working like a charm before the update. Is there any way to perform a firmware downgrade?

A little bump...more than a month has passed, and I still haven't found any solution. Please somebody help me. Is there anybody experiencing issues after the last driver/firmware update? I'm just looking for a way to perform a firmware downgrade and go back to the old one. I don't want to throw my Fast Track Pro away for a stupid firmware problem.

Can you post your full system specs: http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=336556

I don't think there is a way to downgrade the firmware, but you can use an older driver:http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...ck-Pro-Drivers

You might want to try a different USB cable, and port on the computer - for argument sake. Also, if you have another computer you can connect it to, it might be a good idea to test it to make sure it is a FTP problem and not PC.

I've changed my usb cable with a brand new one, plugged in a different port. I've done a CLEAN install of the previous (6.0.7) driver on a fresh formatted system. No success. So I connected the device to my brother's desktop, again no success. It must be a firmware-related issue. Maybe the firmware file was corrupted, I don't know. There MUST be a way to force a firmware install.
