Mozaic AutoTheory Pro?

Is anybody using this one?

Really handy for quick sketching and putting together outlines but it's proving pretty erratic as to when it's going to work or not.

I've read the manual, sat through several setup tutorials on youtube as well as the manufacturer's. Disable the intended MIDI input in PT, enable same in Autotheory etc.

It'll eventually work but I always feel like there is some secret code I am missing, I can never nail down exactly what I just did to get it to pass MIDI to PT.

Reaper seems is more consistent, maybe just the Pro Tools/MIDI relationship I am bumping up against?

Anybody having success? I am on Win 10 PTHD 12.7.1.

Channel 2+ for MIDI. Ch1. doesn't transmit.

Odd, in Autotheory MIDI output section I've got Autotheory 1, ch 1 - 8.

Autotheory 2 through 8 do not have individual channel selections like Autotheory 1 does.

In PT it shows 1 - 8 channels for all 8 Autotheory inputs.

Is that right?

I meant try turning on Channel 2 under MIDI OUTPUT in AutoTheory, and setting up your track and VI to receive on the right channels. That has worked for me in the past. But just tested again and it's kinda squirrely. This session I need to enable channel 5 and up in AutoTheory and that transmits.

I'd try switching on channels and see what works. If nothing works, sometimes closing AutoTheory while PT is open and then re-opening it will help. Don't know why.

It seems to change every now-and-then, as you can see in this video, CH1 is working, but last time I used it, I had to choose CH2. This time it's CH5.

Maybe it's a Pro Tools thing, cause it doesn't seem to do this with other DAW's.

I tried every channel. Doesn't have that issue in Reaper at all, works every time.

If I clear prefs/databases prior to launching PT then Autotheory will pass midi and works fine. Once I close the session and reboot PT however it will not.

Being a MIDI-compoop that I am there must be something I am not seeing that happens when prefs/databases are cleared.

Interesting... Haven't had time to try to troubleshoot this. Maybe contact Mozaic and see if they would have any ideas.
