Default Waves L1 plugin instead of Digi dither?

I've read the other posts but can't see a clear answer:

Does the Waves L1 Maximizer plugin dither from 24 to 16 bits, or does it just look that way? In other words, I'm unclear if you still need to use the Digi dither in the last slot of the master fader if you are using the L1 Maxumizer.

Thanks,

EjA

Thanks MIke,
I'd swear it was the other way around from the posts I was reading; anyone disagree?

Just 2 cents worth, i have a copy of waves masters, well for another couple of days till the demo expires, and the L2 seems to be superior in my op to the L1umax, more than signifcantly better.
the presets are a great sterting point, I will buy one of the bundle just for that and the multiband.

On my system the L1 dither used to create very low level clicks and pops (around 70 - 80 dB down). For this reason I didn't use the L1 to dither. I used T-Racks which to my ears sounded better.
The L2 has changed that though. I don't know whether they have changed the dither algorithm or not but the L2 doesn't produce the clicks and pops. I now use it's dither instead of T-Racks.
Overall, I'm very impressed with the Masters bundle, particularly the Linear EQ.

EjA,

The L1 will dither at whatever you set it to (I believe you can set it for 24 or no dither, 20, 16 or 8. You only need one dither plug. I use the Waves L1+ultramaximizer (the stero version that you put on the Master fader).

I do not use the Digi plug.

Good Luck
