Blue screen of death *S!@p&***!!
I have a new dell w/ XP ProSP2 and I've installed an older version of protools, 6.1. The program loads fine up until I try to create a new session or open an existing session that was saved to cd. This is when it bombs out and I get a 'page fault in non page area' stop error (0x50). Prior to this, the same thing was happening at the same spot but w/ a different message ('bad pool header', 0x19), which I thought I had corrected by uninstalling Symantec and Norton. Does anyone know why this is happening??
Other information: just one hard drive, 7200 rpm I've updated the drivers unchecked the boxes in the hardware setup for shadowing internal firewire

Check out this thread for info on updating to 6.4cs9 for compatibility with Service Pack 2.
You may also want to look at the Win XP/ Pro Tools 6.x/7.x General Troubleshooting thread, which has further information on troubleshooting and configuration. |

Thanks much. This looks like good stuff. I'll take it home and try it.
