ok. I'm working with Pro-Tools M-Powered 8.0.4cs on Windows 7 32-bit. And after several testings and research, I can't seem to figure out what cause distorotion during playback. I've tried several different settings with the M-Audio control panel and nothing seems to work. I've thinking the signal is coming in too hot, so I can I control that with the control panel or I'm recording a double feed. Any suggestions would be nice, Thanks

I have a 24/96 sound card from M-Audio and I'm using a Behringer Eurorack UB2442FX-Pro with the rca cable going in to the tape in and tape out on the mixer.

Distortion during playback could really be anything. Such as the obvious, you are playing back audio that is distorted. Or you could have improper gain staging. Plugins could be clipping not to mention the tracks themselves could be over.

Either playback some audio you know is not distorted such as a loop or trace the signal from start to finish making sure you are not clipping at any of the many points along the way.
