Default digi 001/le "upgradable?Whats\'that mean?

I've seen this on this site but what are they referrng to?[LIST]

You'll get a very small compensation in price when upgrading to Digidesign's hyper-expensive MIX TDM systems. If you would opt for that, you'll have to hand over your existing Digi001 hardware to Digidesign.
