Default PCI Firewire Card "connected" into a PCI-E slot...!!!

I'm trying to buy a firewire pci-e card, but its really difficult in Brazil... Then I noticed I have an old firewire card (PCI) in my previous computer... Well, I am wondering about to connect this Firewire PCI card in my new computer, but it has PCI-E slots ONLY... The question is:

What if I buy a Riser Adapter (pci-e to pci)...!? Will it work fine...? This way I can connect my firewire pci card into my pci-e slots...

Thanks again...

I have always wanted to try this....I have a feeling it will have more to do with the Software drivers for the card.

Can you link to what you want to buy? I find it odd that it would be easier to buy a PCI-e to PCI riser then a simple PCI-e firewire card...

Indeed^^^ there are lots of PCIe firewire cards on the market and I can't see why most any would not be available via mail order/internet

Well he wanted to buy mine for $35 USD but the post to Brazil was like $185.00

So that wasn’t worth it...I would personally try eBay for Brazil and see if you can get one that’s at least on that’s on the continent- it has to be cheaper

$185 to send an envelope from the US to Brazil

WTF!!! I sent our old Control24 from here to New York a few years ago in a HUUUUUGE (Juuuuuuuge "Trump" Voice) package insured and very well packaged for less that $420 and it arrived three days after !!! So almost $200 for a FW card .. Brazilian government must hate their people.
