Default 3rd party plug-ins aren't recognized

Hi all, I'm not sure if I should be posting this in the plug-ins section, but I made it here because I just bought a new mac pro (desktop) and am new to the operating system.
Previously I was running Pro Tools on my PC laptop and switched due to latency spikes making production impossible. On my PC I had all my 3rd party AAX plug-ins working fine on Pro Tools

So far I installed Pro Tools on my Mac and it's running great. The only problem is I can't seem to get Pro Tools to recognize any 3rd party plug-ins.

I've made sure they were installed into the AAX plug-in folder for Mac (Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins), and I can see both Pro Tools and 3rd party plug-ins are there.
However, I can only see Pro Tools Plug-Ins in the inserts dropdown menu. I've googled this problem and no one else seems to have it, so surely I'm just missing something.

If anyone could point me in the right direction it'd be much appreciated!

If I am understanding you correctly you might have to go to plug-ins thru instruments the same way you do with native instruments then assign each channel to a track in Pro tools "ex.2" etc... Arm the track, select record & play and record into Pro tools that way. Make sure you connect your third party instruments I. Audio Studio and route it through native instruments. If you can. Try this first. If you can't get it hit me up again thru my email jasonheyliger@ gmail.com and lets see if I can walk you thru it.

I think Christopher was referring to the OP.

To the OP:
Make sure your plugins are aax64.

Sorry for the late reply guys, really appreciate the help.

I've got about 20 third party plug-ins from instrument to FX, and yes they're 64 bit.

I'm using the full paid version of Pro Tools. I bought it through a student discount ages ago with 3 years of free updates, but my updates coincidently expired while I was transferring to mac. It doesn't say I'm using pro tools first or anything like that though.

It's sorta strange because all my plug-ins work in Ableton, but of course those are a different format.

What exact versions of what exact plugins?

What exact version of Pro Tools were you using on the PC and what exact version on the Mac?

And how exactly are those plugins licensed? If on an iLok what version?

Do you see those plugins load on the splash screen during Pro Tools startup?

Basically I had to download all my plugins again for mac- as the latest version I have licensing for, and 64bit. They include:
-DC1A2
-Dynamics III
-Elevenlite
-EQIII
-Flux: Bittersweet v3
-Flux: Stereotool v3
-InTune
-Invert-Duplicate
-IVGI2
-iZotope: Insight
-iZotope: Meter Tap
-iZotope: RX 5 Advanced (ambience match, connect, declicker, declipper, decrackler, denoiser, dereverb, dialogue denoiser, hum removal, monitor.)
-Melodyne editor 2.1.2
-MJUCjr
-SoftTube: saturation knob
-Xfer Records: Serum (and serum FX)
-Transient Master
-Valhalla Room
-Waves: C6 Multiband compressor, DeEsser, Doppler, Manny M Delay, Maxx Bass, Scheps Parallel Particles,

Some Plug-ins are licensed on iLok, others serial, others are free.

As for Pro Tools version, this is what my mac and pc are running:
Mac= 12.3.1
PC= 11.2.1

Also, I don't see any plug-ins load when I startup Pro Tools. It goes from scanning plug-ins to initializing X

You are running Pro Tools 12.3.1 on Sierra? Hopefully you already realize that's not a supported configuration. You should be running 12.6 or later. Wether you can get it to work with that is unclear. Most folks here would not bother to try.

You are trying to install Melodyne Editor 2? Current version is 4.That's not likely supported.

iZotope 5, is not the latest, but is supposed to work on Sierra, at least with supported Pro Tools versions on Sierra (which you don't have).

I'm getting the feeling you've not being that careful about compatibility here.

You can try trashing prefs, especially make sure you get the installed plugins prefs file. Then starting Pro Tools. Beyond that it is likely a poor investment of time and lost money to mess around vs. upgrading to a supported versions of Pro Tools... and if you still have problems then at least you have a good base to troubleshoot on.
