You do not have a Pro Tools system.

You only have a control interface (the Pro Control)

A Pro Tools HD system pre version 9 has to have at least a HD Core Card, matching interface, and the HD license on the iLok

From version 9 on the software could run with out the Hardware but HD software licenses are not supose to be separated from the HD Hardware but some were

So what happened, someone sold you a HD8 License and a Pro Control and told you that you had a Pro Tools system? If so you got took

Default ProControl with Pro Tools HD 8

What exact HD compatible audio interface do you have connected to the HD/TDM card in your computer? The Octopre is not a HD compatible interface, but it can drive the line level analog or ADAT digital inputs on a suitable HD interface -- like a Digidesign 96 or 192.

This thread is pretty painful, we cannot guess what you have, or if you really know what "everything ... needed to make the Pro Control work" actually is. Or what you mean by "work" -- like what input and output IO do you actually need? How about you start over by clearly stating exactly what exact equipment you have and what you are trying to do (e.g. Track what sources, how many outputs, other digital IO needs etc.).

As long as it's a Core Card and not a Proccess/Accell Card you should have everything
Things to try:
a) will DigiTest see the interface / check it's firmware version
b) try re-seating/flipping the Digi-link Cable

It's likely as frustrating with the cryptic brief descriptions of your problems.

So lets see you got an error message telling you to check stuff, would it be too much to actually say if you checked that stuff?

Is this combination of card/cable/interface known to work in this or another computer? Not what you've been told by a seller but have you actually seen it working yourself?

So what exact trouble shooting have you done?

Where is your Sandra Report? (see the "Help us Help You - READ THIS Before Posting!" above on this and every other DUC web page).

Is the 192 plugged in and turned on?

Is the 192 Power LED ring lit up? And what color? And you've read the 192 manual to understand what the power ring LED color means?

Have you checked and reseated the Digilink cable?

Have you tried a different Digilink cable?

Have you run Digitest?

Have you checked the core card for common damage/broken components (e.g. http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=281993). Check this before trying other slots.

Have you tried different card slots?

Have you tried a different computer?

Nope that's all you need. Is your card passing digitest? If you don't know what that is, check your manual for full instructions

Our Octopre is an ADAT Only unit. Thus in this setup it is only connected via ADAT, so any brand ADAT unit would be compatible.

Best regards.
