Differences between "REV" in D-Command

Hello,

I have recently acquired 2 D-Command main units. They were sold "as-is" because they were both in need of repairs. I completed all the repairs today and both are working beautifully. No stuck faders, no dead power supplies, no sticky residue on the face, etc...

Upon opening them both, I noticed the "newer" black D-Command has boards that say "Rev-A" while the "Old Blue" has boards that say "Rev-B" and even "Rev-F". Am I right in assuming that the higher the letter, the newer the part? The newer the part, the better?

I have to sell one of them and I'm hoping to Frankenstein together the best of the best parts for myself. Is there any difference or would it be a total waste of my time and potentially dangerous for my potential sale?

I'd just keep the ES one (black) all but the earliest have carbon alps faders versus the plastic track faders on the blues. There was an update on the comms board that allows multi mode, as in control 2 machines, but don't know when that occurred, but the black should have it. If you want to see if the blue has it, have it offline and hold the far left channel solo button down for 3 seconds, if it has it 'multi mode' will come up in the display panel to the right of the transport buttons.

Used Multi Mode for the first time today. Amazing!

This heals the whole in my heart of having to sell a second D-Command for my b-system. A simple press of the button, instant switch to the one right in front of me.
