Default I can't hear my guitar in audio track

I'm using a line 6 UX1 and pro tools 9

When I try to assign it to an audio track, none of the inputs work, but I can still hear the guitar If I use an instrument track, input 2 works, yet it won't record. Someone told me change the settings but not sure what they meant at the guitar center anyone have an idea on how to set it up

Default Re: I can't hear my guita in audio track

It's probably something wrong with your I/O setup. I would set everything to default and go from there.

So expanding the details of what you need to do...

Make sure that in Setup>Playback Engine the Playback Engine is set to your interface.

In Setup>IO on the Input, Output and Bus pages click the "DEFAULT" button.

For each track make sure you have the correct input selected in the input button.

What happens when you do all that?

---

You should always be using a audio track for your guitar. An Instrument track is a special kind of MIDI track often used for virtual instruments.
