Question DeckLink HD Extreme II PCIe OR Intensity Pro PCIe?

Hi again

Now I am researching video cards to drop into a current (just slightly updated) 2012 Mac Pro 12 core, along with 2 x HDX cards.

wanting to pump any frame rate Quicktime (from within PT) out to an HDMI monitor.

they both SEEM to be approved by Avid.

do I get a Blackmagic DeckLink HD Extreme II PCIe (with HDMI daughter board)

or Blackmagic Intensity Pro PCIe

Anyone here using either of these in a similar configuration?

thanks!

Won't there be insufficient slots for the daughterboard if you have HDX2?

i can't see why... there are 3 PCI slots.

see Avid's link that shows it working with HDX-2

What am I missing: 2x HDX cards, 1x Decklink card, 1x daughterboard: that's four slots, right?

Daughterboard only needs a backplate in reality.

If you install the daughterboard backplate it does block the PCI slot behind it, so you would run into trouble running 2HDX, plus BM, plus the stock video card.
I find the daughterboard description a bit misleading though, because all it is is 2 HDMI port/cables attached to a backplate. There is no board as such.
It would be relatively simple to cut a couple of holes for the HDMI ports in the rear of the Mac Pro, (but taking to your lovely new apple with a dremel might not be desirable)

If you go with the intensity, you will not get gen locked video playback.
