probably the most obvious noob question ever...

Ive recorded guitar parts on mono audio tracks.
Im trying to pan one hard left and one hard right but for some reason the channel I pan right will not play anything back, just silence.

I was able to do this in Cubase, but now have no luck????

any ideas????

1- is there a waveform on the tracks you are panning right? if no, thats your problem.
2- is there a cable physically connected from the right output or output "2"? (im assuming you are using an interface with only stereo out). if no thats your problem.
3- mute your monitor controller and switch around the cable plugged into your interface's output "1" and plug it into "2". unmute your monitor controller and if you hear sound now the problem is not the interface but what was connected to it. But, for now, plug the cables back where they were.
4- where was output "2" plugged into? straight into a powered monitor? perhaps a stereo amplifier? do the same thing in step 3 but this time on the other end of the connection (but dont do the cable switching with the amps on!). if the cable that gave you sound plugged into "1" is plugged into "2" and you dont get sound, then you have a broken amp or monitor.

Assuming you did record something, create a master stereo track! Then paning right your mono track, you should only have sound on the right meter and if you did plug a speaker to the right channel of the outputs (usually output 2, 1 being for left output!) from your audio card, it should go there!!!! Which audio card are you using? It really looks like you don't have a speaker connected to your right output! Maybe you can also check you I/O settings!
