Default URGENT - What Would Prevent Digidesign Hardware Drivers From Installing On A PC?

Computer - Dell Optiplex 760

Never mind that it is a Dell, because its happening on some other PCs as well here where I teach (Brand New). If I install any version of PT w/MBox 1, and then uninstall and reinstall to use our new shiny MBox2, the INSTALLING DIGIDESIGN HARDWARE drivers passes and the drivers never install.

Upon uninstalling, I have deleted every reference to Digidesign in the Registry, I have used PT Nuke and the PT8 Uninstaller utility. Still the MBOX2 drivers never install. If I try to attach it and install the driver manually after PT8 "fully installs", I get a CODE 10 DEVICE CANNOT START ERROR. - WINDOWS XPSP3

Am I missing something here? I've even went as far to uninstall all of the USB Controllers (they reinstall automatically) and then reinstalling.

Have you run the MBox2 and it's cable on another system to be sure all is well with it.

Also, with some store bought computers, I have found it best to be sure you have wiped the proprietary version of Windows from your hard drive and use a stock Microsoft version of the OS.

I sure did Tom. And it installed fine on the other system(s). I have this problem only on systems for which I previously installed MBox 1.

I don't see any obvious reasons for not being able install drivers. If the MBox2 is working properly I would re-install Windows and go from there. The questions I would have about your computer should not prevent installation.
