Default Mac & PC (Both connected to the same 002r) Will it work?

Is it safe to connect one firewire port on an 002r to a Mac & the other firewire on the 002r to a PC? So I could be able to run PT on either machine. I wouldn't want to run PT on both machines at the same time, but my concern would be damaging the 002r somehow, if both my Mac & PC are powered on at the same time & both connected to the 002r. And if they were both powered on at the same time (connected to the 002r) & it was completely safe, what would actually happen? Would both computers see the 002r as a viable audio/midi I/O, or would only one of the computers see the 002r?
There has to be someone that's already tried this...

I think it would be really bad to have 2 drivers on different machines trying to control one piece of hardware.

Somehow I think you are way past the point of needing an Intel Mac if you are asking this as a serious question.
