How to load new protools 9 to my Mac OS Sierra

HI Avid Family!
I am new to this and I just purchased Pro Tools 9 and it will not download on my Mac I have to get a project completed ASAP
it is saying my Mac is not comp but my system is above the requirement its giving me this:

Pro Tools cannot be installed because the following error(s) were found on your system:
- An incompatible version of the OS was found. Pro Tools 9.0 requires Mac OS X version 10.6.2 or higher.

PLEASE SOMEONE HELP !

I already went there. it does not give the info I need.
Question: I found my old Ilok account and am now downloading the upgrade 12.8 for mac.This should work, now.. Correct with my new Mbox?

Do you have a license for 12.8?
It is a 299 USD upgrade and need to be done before updating your PT9

No, I have not nor do I need it.
SO, how do I download my 9 that I purchased then?
my Mac will not take the 9. it says my Mac is not compatible but I do have the correct version 10.12.5 Mac OS Sierra

I do have the activation code to upgrade to 11

I am not sure what you mean by you have the correct OS ??

PT9 will not work with Sierra or anything above 10.7.5 so that is a non starter.

If you have a valid copy you should have the Avid account setup and thats where PT9 installers will reside.

If you dont have registered your PT version then you have to contact Avid and ask for a download link. An ASC ticket is 30-ish dollars and they will sort out what instalöers you need BUT if you have Sierra then that is a waste of time.

If you wanna run PT you would have to upgrade to PT12 as the OS is too new and PT9 is too old.

PT 11 .. i dont know where that can be downloaded or upgraded to as it is an older version and has been replaced with PT12 so if you havent upgraded from 9-11 then i doubt your upgrade will work for that. I suggest contacting Avid Support and ask them what you can and cant do.

I purchased a new Mbox mini from Ebay that came with protools 9.So you are saying Its no good for me?
SO, you think I need to contact AVid and do a 1 time support?

I only use protools for dry voice over reads and editing.. I don't do any music adding.
I had protools a long time ago on my PC but just recently got a Mac

What about the fact that I have the activation code to upgrade to protools 11?

The problem is that PT9 doesn't work with OS Sierra as it is 5-6 years old now so if you bought it it would have been good to check compatibility first.

As I said PT11 is replaced by 12 so i dont know if that upgrade code will work anymore but you need to contact Avid and ask them what options you have as we have not got the answers you need here.
