Can a teacher/student yearly sub be used to extend a regular PT12 Perpetual license?
Can a teacher/student yearly sub (purchsased at the end of 2016) be used to extend a regular PT12 Perpetual license (upgrade from PT10) purchased at the end of 2015?
Just trying to sort out the best route for me. I already purchased a teacher/student $99 sub for the year, but I still own a regular PT10 license. I bought the PT10 license 2nd hand though, so I'm not sure how that affects things if it does at all.

The sub is the sub. Only valid for as long as you pay, that's it.
The 10 license can be upgraded. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PTUpSup |

As long as you have access to the second hand 10's iLok account, or better, if you have transferred it to your account, then it doesn't matter if it's second hand

I have the PT10 license on my own personal iLok. It was transferred properly when purchased, so no problems there. Just wasn't sure how it worked. Some software companies treat 2nd hand licenses differently, as in not eligible for upgrades and such.

I'd do the upgrade I linked to, sooner rather than later, since their stock of these upgrades will run out.

Quote:
$99 Edu sub in 2015, $299 Edu Perpetual (assuming no price change) in 2016 = ~$400. Less a possible sale of my PT10 license. $99 Edu sub I already bought + $199 PT 10 upgrade in 2015 + $99 Edu sub extension in 2016 = ~$400 If I could go back in time a handful of days maybe I would have done the $199 upgrade. At this point though, I think it's a wash, and I could actually come out ahead if I can unload my PT10 license for a few bucks.

Can a teacher/student yearly sub be used to extend a regular PT12 Perpetual l...
Thanks everyone. I sold my PT10 non-Edu license and I'll probably just stay on the yearly Edu subscription model unless I feel the need to buy into a perpetual Edu license at the end of the year.
