I find that when this happens it's usually that Countoff has been enabled accidentally. Have you checked for that yet?

You wasted money because it looks like you haven't understood what Albee said.

A multi channel (in your case triple) motherboard works best when all slots are used. In order to use all three slots with matching sticks, the total RAM count has to be a multiple of 3...........10 or 20 which you have is not, which is what The Weed and EGS were eluding to in their earlier posts.

I know in the Motherboard I was using, if all 3 slots were not being used, they had to be populated in a certain order. You may want to check your motherboard manual to see if this is a requirement if you choose to continue with your current RAM configuration.

Now whether or not this is at the root of your problem remains to be seen. Simply upgrading the total RAM count randomly is not going to ascertain whether or not it is.

In any case, better overall performance will be gotten by using all three slots with matching sticks because the system will then be able to utilize the 'triple channel' facility it was designed for.

Is the hard drive to which you are recording the audio near full? Make sure you have LOTS of open space on your hard drive. LOTS.

I'm wondering bout your video card/drivers/settings. Don't see any mention about that.
