That machine will run Pro Tools just fine. In fact it will easily handle 20+ tracks. What version of OSX are you running?

Which is to say "Mountain Lion," right? IMHO, it might be worth going for Pro Tools 10 instead of 9. I feel as though Digi kind of neglected the cs updates on v9 and threw all their eggs in the v10 basket. I might be wrong, though, in which case there's either something wrong with our PT9 install on an iMac running Mac OS 10.7 ("Lion") or it's a kind of wonky version of software. We haven't tried 10, but I hear it's working very smoothly on brand new Macs.

I don't know if you need to, I just think it might be recommended. I am running Pro Tools 9 on a computer with Lion, and it works; I don't know about Mountain Lion compatibility, though. Hopefully someone else around here knows better than I, but you can also poke around the main digidesign.com site to try to find a compatibility document for Pro Tools 9.

Pro Tools 9 will run fine on your Mac Mini. I have the mid-level 2012 Mac Mini & have zero problems. It will run fine for you.
