Default Mac Pro 12 Core Westmere 3.46 Running Mavericks with GUI and Glitchy Issues

Hello,

I started with a 2009 Mac Pro with Pro Tools 12 and realized there was a major GUI issue. Well since then I've tried 2 other Mac Pro's one being a 2010 2.93 12 Core and then returning that to try a 2010 3.46 12 Core Westmere. The specs I am running at right now are as follows:

Mac Pro - Mid 2010
2 x 3.46 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon
64GB 1333 MHz DDr3 ECC
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 2GB
1TB mSATA SSD via PCI slot
2 6TB Software RAID Drives set at 0
OSX Mavericks 10.9.5 (latest build)

My main issue is the graphics not being able to keep up with me. Each one of the computers I've used with Pro Tools 12 requires me to use Quartz Debug with the Beam Sync disabled. This works well but after a full day of using Pro Tools. I start to see it lag. Not sure if it's really just a graphics issue. I see more stutters in the screen like if it were about to beach ball. (sometimes it does beach ball)

I have trashed my preferences, etc. I feel like my machine should be good enough. This is the highest performance CPU for these older Mac Pro's. I got a higher graphics card from MacVidCards. I even replaced my old Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 that was running Firewire 400 to an Universal Audio Apollo Firewire Quad Core.

Is it the Mac Pro? Am I going to have to go trash can? Or is it a Pro Tools 12 Issue?

Thanks in advanced!

I have a similar Mac Pro and am experiencing similar problems. Did you ever find a resolution?

maybe not the culprit here , but software RAIDS are a big NONO
with PT , at least with PT 10 it was the case , not sure about PT11+12...

I run a PTHDN 12.51/Mac OS's 10.9.5 & 10.10.5 on a 2010 2.93 12 Core and a 2010 3.33 12 Core Westmere, no software raid, both with ATI 5770s, without those issues.
