Avid_Application_Plugin <--- what is this?

In an effort to clean up my new 10.7 system and optimize it, I'm trying to keep my plug ins up to date... I found a plugin in my folder that's called

Avid_Application_Plugin version 7.0x0-- it has a modified date of August 30, 2006

I do have Media Composer and Pro Tools on this system together... this seems rather old for a plug in for current versions of both programs...

does anyone know what it is and if it's still sitting there from some old version of either MC or PT?
