Default Apple Mini Recommendation

I now have LE 9.0.5 003 Factory+ loaded on my MacBook Pro. Unfortunately, the other junk I have on the system is getting in the way and I am thinking of setting up a system exclusively for music.

Questions:
1. Any opinions on a new Mac Mini? How would you configure (memory, ports, etc.)
2. Can I get two instances of ProTools and just use my key when I work with either system. (I still want to be able to record with my laptop on the road.)

Any suggestions appreciated.

MOG

A Mac Mini i7 quad with dual 7200 rpm drives(or use an external FW drive for recording) and 16GB of RAM should be a little powerhouse! Those things can generate a lot of heat, so I would sit it on a laptop cooler. As long as both computers have the same version(s) of Pro Tools, just keep the iLok with you(unless you can afford a second iLok and license). You can install Pro Tools on as many computers as you like. It requires the iLok to open and run

I'm running a 2.66 QuadCore i7 MacMini with 8GB ram and a Fusion Drive at home.
OS 10.8.5 with PT10/11 - it's fantastic.

I've heard that heat comment before, but mine is on 24/7 and it's cool to the touch (top and bottom).

Audio on an external FW800
